<>On the morning of September 15, 2026, at the large hall in Zone A, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCM-UTE, formerly Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education) held a program reporting and propagandizing security, order, and social safety issues for the third quarter of 2026.
Attending the program from HCM-UTE were Dr. Tran Thanh Thuong – Head of Student Affairs Department; MSc. Le Phan Nhat Hang – Deputy Head of Student Affairs Department; representatives of the Youth Union – Student Association of the university along with a number of students. The speaker at the program was Captain Hoang Duc Nghi – Internal Political Security Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police.

At the program, Captain Hoang Duc Nghi from the Internal Political Security Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, updated the security and order situation related to youth and students; he also analyzed common risks such as drugs, gambling and online betting, cyber, illegal credit, non-transparent employment, theft, school violence, and personal information infringement. Through videos, images, and real-life scenarios, students were guided on how to recognize violation tactics, protect their accounts and personal data, verify information before sharing, keep evidence, and contact the university or authorities when detecting unusual signs; thereby raising legal awareness, vigilance, and self-protection skills in study, daily life, and online environments.

Through this, the university continues to strengthen prevention efforts, supporting learners to proactively identify and respond to risks in life and the digital environment, aiming to build a safe, healthy, civilized, and sustainable educational environment.
The second session of the program scheduled for October 9, 2026, continuing to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to proactively prevent, identify, and respond to risks of security and social safety breaches.
Regarding the University's Name Change: On December 26 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2809/QĐ-TTg, officially renaming Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCM-UTE), to accurately reflect the multi-disciplinary development orientation, strengths in technology – engineering, and the current stature of the university. Before 2007, the university was a leading institution in technical pedagogy training; since 2007, following changes in the national training sector codes, the university has accelerated development in technology – engineering fields and related areas. The renaming aligns with the 2021-2030 higher education network planning, vision 2050, meeting human resource demands in the digital transformation era, while affirming its role as a national key university in technology – engineering. |
